2010 U.S. Remote Working Research Summary (MSFT)

Microsoft recently commissioned 7th Sense Research, a market research company, to survey 3600 employees in 36 markets in a series of questions regarding working remotely.

The survey is available for download as a PDF from microsoft.com.
Boston came in first in the country for telecommuters, followed by Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Atlanta; and Denver. After Kansas City, the top 10 included Richmond, Va.; Austin, Texas; New York; Sacramento, Calif.; and Portland, Ore.

The results show that over 60% of those surveyed believe that they are more productive when working remotely. But, just as anyone would assume, the survey also found that most companies are not supportive of telecommuting.
